Professional background

Since the year 2000, Sebastian Wiegmann has worked on national and international advisory projects. After 7 years in transaction services with one of the Big Four accounting firms in Düsseldorf and Dublin/Ireland, he worked for 3 years as an investment manager for a private equity holding company located in Ireland. Furthermore, he was a director of a German portfolio company during 2009 and 2010 (restructuring/preparation for sale).

Since 2011, Sebastian Wiegmann has worked as an independent consultant and accountant. He advises a diverse range of client companies. In addition, he acts also as a freelancer for well-known advisory and accounting firms.

Areas of specialisation

  • Financial due diligence: Buyer-initiated and seller-initiated projects in Germany and abroad.
  • Vendor assistance: Advice in connection with spin-offs/carve-outs, preparation of information memoranda and management of (electronic) data rooms.
  • Corporate finance: Consulting in connection with M&A transactions, equity and debt financings, as well as project management in connection with M&A projects.
  • Post-merger integration: Support subsequent to an acquisition, for example, in connection with the quantification of synergies or rationalisation of financial/legal structures (mergers of subsidiaries etc.).
  • Accounting advisory: Advice in connection with the preparation of special balance sheets, for example, completion accounts.

Sebastian Wiegmann possesses considerable professional experience in the services sector, retail, waste management/recycling, food/consumer goods, IT/software, chemicals and real estate. Furthermore, he has frequently worked with financial investors (private equity) and family offices.
